Bio: Yesenia graduated from PSJA North Early College High School in 2013. She then obtained a Bachelors in Science and Arts with a focus on biology and a certification in education. During her time at UT-Austin, she was an active member of Women in Medicine, an undergraduate organization tailored to young women pursuing a career in the any health profession. Yesenia was also a mentor for the Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS) throughout her 4 years at UT. She is currently a fourth year medical student at McGovern Medical School at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. In the near future, Yesenia hopes to serve a Spanish-speaking population as a pediatrician or an internist. During her down time, Yesenia likes to run, do yoga, make cooking videos, and go on strolls with her dog, Chip.
